William E. Gitt
William Gitt received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Santa Clara School of Law in 1974 and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Whittier College in 1969. In 1986 he received a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology from the California Graduate Institute.

Since 1979, he has devoted his efforts primarily to representing health care providers in matters involving allegations of medical negligence. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Gitt has been a litigator.

Initially, Mr. Gitt represented hospitals, their staffs, and hospital-based physicians while associated with the firm of Harrington, Foxx, Dubrow & Canter, trying cases at the request of the California Hospital Association and Truck Insurance Exchange. Mr. Gitt continued to gain expertise defending health care providers while associated with the firms of Rushfeldt, Shelley & Drake and Thomas & Price. He has been a senior litigator with Schmid & Voiles since 2001.
