July, 2005

The Risk Management CME Program is now available in an independent study program format.

The 124-slide Program replicates the Award-Winning Risk Management CME Program taught more than 30 times a year to CAP Members.

This program has been recognized and accredited by the CAP Education/CME Committee under the auspices of the California Medical Association (CMA).

While all new Members will still attend the in-person CME Program, this web-based version, as well as a CD-ROM version (available soon), will offer Members the following additional educational opportunities:

· If more than 12 months has passed since a physician Member has attended the CME Program, he will be able to complete the self study version at home. After the Member submits the correct answers on the electronically formatted quiz at the end of the program, CAP Risk Management will issue a CME Certificate granting 3 units of Category I credit.

·

Members may repeat the course every 12 months for CME credit toward their medical licensing requirements.

The Program progresses from slide-to-slide automatically but may be stopped at any point. A Table of Contents is present and useful if the viewer wishes to return to a particular slide or section for review. If unable to view the entire Program, and complete the quiz, in one sitting, a Member should take note of the slide number so he may resume at the same point later.

To begin the Risk Management CME program, go to the "Members Only" section of this site.

Each Member must have a password to enter. If you do not yet have a password, please follow directions to identify and register your password.

Target Audience: All CAP Members
Appropriate for all medical specialties.

This program is approved for up to 3 hours of Category 1 credits by the Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc., A California Medical Association accredited provider of Category 1 Continuing Medical Education credits.

Physician attendees may apply up to 3 hours of Category 1 CME toward the California Medical Association's certificate in Continuing Medical Education and the American Medical Association's physician's recognition award.
