We encourage everyone to be civically engaged in their community. We want our members and staff to be part of their communities. Voting is an important responsibility for all Americans and CAP wants the voices of its members and staff to be heard at the ballot box. Every vote is important because it is a symbol of one’s commitment to their society.
Voting is simple, but it requires registration. To be eligible to vote, one needs to complete a registration form with your county registrar of voters. It is a quick and easy and CAP has provided an electronic link to further simplify the process, simply click on the link provided below. Remember to re-register if you have changed your mailing address, changed your political party affiliation*, or have changed your name. You may register to vote at any time, but must be registered on or before 15 days prior to each local and statewide election in California. Voter registration is permanent and will not be cancelled even if you do not cast a ballot in an election for as long as you remain at the same address.
Click here to go directly to the register-to-vote web page.
If you are registered and a regular voter, congratulations. However, if a member of your family, friend or colleague is not registered, direct them to this link as well and help them become part of our voting society.
Please note: It is not necessary to be affiliated with any political party to vote in an election. A growing number of Californians prefer to register as “independents”, which must not to be confused with the “American Independent Party”. If you fall into this category, the proper category is “decline to state”. Many people have made this error and we highlighted it for your information.
